WINDSOR LOCKS - Paul E. Lanford, 84, formerly of Wallingford, departed this life on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford. He was the loving husband of Rachel Lanford. Paul was born on March 25, 1929, in Enoree, SC, a son of the late Dennis and Lily (Smith) Lanford. Paul was a veteran of the US Navy and prior to his retirement he had worked for Allegheny Ludlum in Wallingford. He had been a member of Compass Lodge #9 and was active in various avenues of masonry including the Knights Templar and Shriners International. He enjoyed metal detecting. In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed by his daughters: Dorothy Diane Lanford of Windsor Locks and Karen Kaplan and her husband Ken of Suffield; a son: Ray Lanford and his wife Wendy of Hebron; grandchildren: Darla, Joseph and Sara; great grandchildren: Jeremy, Alex, Alana and Joseph; and his nieces: Susan Cosgrove and Linda Kafka of Wallingford. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, April 22, 2013 at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford from 9:00 - 10:45 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the In Memoriam Cemetery.
