David Keith Svendsen, 62, of Jensen Beach, FL, departed this life on Wednesday, April 4, 2013 at Yale New Haven Hospital. David was born on July 1, 1950, in New Haven, CT, a son of Regina (Curran) Svendsen and the late Ernest Svendsen He was an accomplished athlete at Lyman Hall and was active on the swim and track teams. David was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed boating and fishing. Earier in his life he won the five star award at the Breaker's Hotel in Palm Beach for excellence in hospitality. In addition to his mother, he will be saddly missed by his brother, Jon Peter Svendsen and his wife Vicki of Wallingford; his nephew Derek Svendsen of Wallingford; and his niece Tara Svendsen of Wallingford. He is preceded in death by two brothers: Jeffrey and Paul Svendsen. Friends may call on Monday, April 8th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 9th at 1:00 PM at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
