WINTER HAVEN, FL - Stanley Szwabowski of Wallingford, CT died on Friday, March 1,2013. He was born in Šcucyn, Belarus on April 22, 1917. He was predeceased by his wife Pauline Berdnik Szwabowski. He is survived by a sister, Janina Szwabowska of Dzjaržynsk , Belarus; daughter, Danuta ( pre-deceased Bruce) Hartman of Winter Haven, FL; son Walter (Jeannie) Szwabowski, of Durham; grandchildren Adam (Joanna) Hartman of Walkersville, MD, Jay (Lu McLeod) Hartman, of Haddam Neck, and Jennifer (Mike) Trevison of Middletown. His great grandchildren are, Benjamin, Nathaniel, Ruby Hartman and Madysn Trevison. He was a soldier in the Polish army during WWII. He was married in Colonia of Santa Rosa, Mexico, immigrated to New York City, NY in 1946, and worked at many jobs, one of which included as an electrician in the NY boatyards. He retired from American Cyanamid in Wallingford. He enjoyed building and remodeling houses. He loved to swim with his friends and spend time with his family. He always had a smile on his face. The family would like to thank Good Shepherd Hospice for their compassionate and loving care during his final days. Donations in his memory may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, St. Matthew Church in Winter Haven, or SS. Peter and Paul Church in Wallingford, CT. Friends and family may call at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home from 9:00 - 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 5th. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:30 am at SS. Peter and Paul Church in Wallingford. Interment will be at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Wallingford.
