WALLINGFORD - Richard N. Lajoie, 82, of Wallingford, departed this life on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Masonic Healthcare Center. He was the husband of the late Madeleine (Malo) Lajoie. He was born in Lewiston, ME, August 20, 1930 son of the late Antoine and Jeanne Gauvin Lajoie. Until his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver for Mutrie Trucking and then Krevit Trucking Co. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a communicant of SS. Peter and Paul Church in Wallingford and was a member of Compass Lodge # 9 AF & AM in Wallingford and the Major Raoul Lufbery V.F.W. Post # 591 in Wallingford. He is survived by two sons, David A. Lajoie of Manchester and Daniel A. Lajoie and his wife Holly of Wallingford and two granddaughters: Danielle and Dempsey both of Wallingford. He also leaves his special, longtime friend, Ella Distasio of Wallingford whom the family thanks deeply for her loving care of Richard. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, February 6th from 4-7 PM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 7th at 10 AM at Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Wallingford. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
