Alma "Lee" Smith (Allen), 84, departed this life on April 8, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Richard Allen of West Haven, CT. Lee was born in San Francisco, CA, on March 31, 1933 to the late Herbert and Edna (Kurtz) Love. She spent her early years growing up on Long Island before she and her family moved to New Haven, then finally settling in West Haven. Lee was an accomplished and gifted crafter. She spent many years pursuing this passion and sold her crafts at fairs throughout Connecticut under her company, Crafts 'N Knits by Lee. Besides her husband, Lee is survived by her daughter Cheryl Smith (John Holland) of Northford and her granddaughter Lydia Holland (Tom Norton) of Wallingford. Alma was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Smith and her son Shaun Smith. She loved her family and friends dearly, including her two cats Fluff and Socks. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 13th at 12:30pm at St. Joseph of Arimathea Church, 62 E. Grand Avenue, New Haven. Family and Friends may call Wednesday evening, April 12th, from 4 to 6pm at Maresca & Sons Funeral Home, 592 Chapel Street, New Haven.
