Obituary of Harry R. Whitmore

WALLINGFORD - Harry R. Whitmore, 85, of Wallingford, departed this life on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Arden House in Hamden, following a lengthy illness. Harry was born on October 14, 1927, in New Haven, CT son of the late George and Anna (Sedon) Whitmore. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army. Until his retirement he was a custodian at the W.I. Clark Company in Wallingford. He is survived by two sisters: Ann Tuscano and Mildred Wambolt Fairchild both of New Haven along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his first wife, Josephine Whitmore and his second wife Rose Coratelli Whitmore; three sisters: Marie Young, Ruth LanFranco, and Dorothy Cannata; and two brothers: Herbert and George Whitmore. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, December 22nd from 9:30 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph of Arimathea Church, 62 E. Grand Avenue, New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in the church. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to: St. Joseph of Arimathea Church, 62 East Grand Avenue, New Haven, CT 06513. B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford has been entrusted with arrangements.
