MERIDEN - Barbara L. Canning, 81, entered into rest on November 11, 2012 at the Coccomo Memorial Healthcare Center in Meriden. She was the loving wife of the late William T. Canning. Barbara was born on January 14, 1931, in New Haven, a daughter of the late Charles and Blanche (Lovely) Stevens. She will be sadly missed by her son William C. Canning and his wife Janet of Northford; her daughter Barbara A. Stainton and her husband Richard of Wallingford; her brothers, Richard Stevens of Wallingford and James Stevens of Florida; six grandchildren: Richard, Richelle, Kara, Chris, Bryan and Nicole; and one great grandchild, Michael. She is preceded in death by her brothers Donald and Charles Stevens and a sister Dorothy Snedeker. A graveside service will be led by the Rev. Thomas J. Walsh of Most Holy Trinity Church at St. John Cemetery on Wednesday, November 14th at 10:00 AM. There are no calling hours. Barbara's family would like to express their gratitude to Laurette and the staff at Coccomo Memorial Healthcare and the staff of the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home for the kindness shown to them and Barbara.
