Obituary of Vivian C. Stevens
MERIDEN - Vivian C. Stevens, 80, passed away on Sept. 26, 2012, at the Coccomo Memorial Health Center in Meriden.
She was born in Mechanicsville, Md. on March 2, 1932, the daughter of the late Christopher and Elizabeth (Thompson) Carrico and spent most of her life in Wallingford.
She will be sadly missed by her children and sons-in-law, Gail (Oliver) Valibus and Ron Valibus, Abbie (Oliver) Prevost and Paul Prevost, and Bill Stevens. Vivian cherished her grandchildren and they will miss her with all their heart; Jeffrey Valibus and his girlfriend, Hannah Disereits, Alexandra and Jacques Prevost, Jessica, Jackie, Julia and Charlie Stevens. She also leaves behind a very special niece that was more like a sister, Carole Ann Smith, of Delaware and her family.
Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a Certified Nurse's Aide at Brook Hollow Health Care Center. Vivian was a strong person that cared deeply for her family and her pets. She instilled a great work ethic in her children and was always there for them. She enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives and Nancy Grace and had no problem voicing her opinion.
A memorial gathering in celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Oct. 5, 1:30 - 3 p.m. at the chapel of the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford. There will be no viewing hours and the interment will be private.
