WALLINGFORD - Harmon F. Bentley, Sr., 83, of Moodus and formerly of Wallingford, beloved husband of the late Mary R. (Bernard) Bentley, departed this life on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Middlesex Hospital surrounded by his family. Harmon was born on September 25, 1928 in New Haven, CT, son of the late William S. Bentley Sr., and Eva E. (Treloar) Bentley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He worked in the steel industry his entire career. He will be missed by his children: Bonnie Bentley of Mansfield Center, Beth Tondreault and her husband Rob of FL, Beverly Racine and her husband Val of Moodus, and Karen Stone of Canada. He also leaves one brother, Robert Bentley of FL and a daughter-in-law, Denise Bentley of FL in addition to his 10 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and other beloved family and friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Harmon F. Bentley, Jr. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 29th at 10 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
