MERIDEN - Lester "Buster" Shingler, 69, of Meriden, departed this life on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at his residence. He was the loving husband of 47 years to Mildred (Stanford) Shingler. Lester was born on December 16, 1942, in New Haven, CT, a son of the late George and Rita (Spier) Shingler. He enjoyed trips to the casino and found great joy spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed by his daughter, Pamela (and Steve) Perkowski of Wallingford; his son, Brian (and Christine) Shingler of Wallingford; his grandchildren: Christopher, Kayla, Kyssandra, and Callie; his brothers: Robert (and Joan) Shingler of Wallingford and Thomas Shingler of West Haven; many brothers and sisters-in-law as well as nieces and nephews; and dear friends: Betty and Chet Ciampini, Mary Jane and the late John Suchecki, and Nick Salemma. He is preceded in death by his Brother: Stephen "TT" Shingler. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 10:30 AM at the First Congregational Church, 23 South Main St., Wallingford. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to the First Congregational Church Scholarship Fund.
