MERIDEN - Laurel A. Blood, 91, departed this life February 27, 2012 at the Hartford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Roger Perle Blood. She was born in Yalesville, June 21, 1920 daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie (Crawford) Watson. Until her retirement in 1981, she was a production worker at New Departure. She was a very active member of the Yalesville United Methodist Church, the United Auto Workers Retirees Union, the Memorial Hospital Woman's Auxiliary, and an Auxiliary member of the Curtis Home in Meriden. She is survived by many nieces and nephews spanning four generations. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Yalesville United Methodist Church, 8 New Place St., in the Yalesville section of Wallingford. Friends may call at the the church for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the In Memoriam Cemetery. If friends so desire, gifts in her memory may be made to the Yalesville United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
