Obituary of Fannie Lee Wahatalo
WALLINGFORD - Fannie Lee Wahatalo, 95, of Wallingford and formerly of Woodstock, CT, beloved wife of the late Ralph Wahatalo departed this life on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Mid-State Medical Center.
Fannie was born on January 3, 1917 in North Carolina, daughter of the late George and Carrie (Ballard) Morgan. She worked for many years as a Registered Nurse most recently as the Admitting Officer at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing, and quilting. She and Ralph attended the First Congregational Church in Woodstock where they participated in many fundraising activities and church groups. After retirement they enjoyed traveling. Her greatest legacy was being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Joan McNeill and her husband Dwight of RI, and Wendy Wahatalo and her husband Donald Faucher of Rocky Hill. She also leaves a sister, Elizabeth Wilson of NC, and a sister-in-law, Emogene Morgan of FL. Fannie also left four beloved grandchildren: Carley Frampton and her husband Conner, Jameson McNeill, Matthew Wahatalo, and Philip Wahatalo. She is preceded in death by her brothers: Oliver, Buddy, and Wayne Morgan.
Relatives and friends are invited to join Fannie's family for a celebration of her life on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM in Auditorium A at Ashlar Village in Wallingford with Rev. Dean Warburton officiating. A Memorial service and interment will be held in Woodstock, CT in the spring with a time and date to be announced.
