Obituary of Anthony W. Kolin
WALLINGFORD - Anthony W. Kolin, 91, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Apple Rehabilitation Center in Meriden.
Anthony was born in North Haven, CT on November 24, 1924 to the late Jacob and Katherine Kolin. He graduated Salutatorian from North Haven High School and began his working career as a machine operator for International Silver. After serving his country in WWII, he embarked on a 35 year working career as an owner/operator for North American Van Lines, where he completed well over one million miles of travel without a single accident.
Anthony will be sadly missed by his nieces: Betty Calling of Florida, Kathryn Olson of Meriden, Gail Kolin of E. Haven, Faye Kolin of Massachusetts, Sally Kolin of Chicago, and nephews: Allen Schott of Meriden, Robert Kolin of Virginia, David Schott of New Mexico, John Kolin, Donna Kolin, both of California, and Jay Kolin of Chicago. He also leaves behind great-nieces: Katey and Melinda, and great-nephews: Peter and Kevan. He will also be missed by many great-great-nieces.
Anthony was predeceased by his many siblings: Stanley Kolin, Mary Kolin, John Kolin, Veronica Kolin, Joseph Kolin, Helen Dray, Edith Schott Rouleau, and Nellie Kolin.
A thank you to Tony's good neighbors, Patti and Mike, for lending an ear and aiding him, to the Coccomo Care Center and especially to the nursing staff of the Franciscan Care Givers.
The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home has been entrusted with Anthony's final arrangements. Relatives and friends may attend a visitation from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Interment with military honors will immediately follow at the CT State Veterans' Cemetery in Middletown.
