Sam Thompson was an integral part of our business and personal lives for well over a decade. He was someone whom we could all turn to for whatever support we needed both professionally and as a friend. His loyalty, commitment and enthusiasm are something that will dearly be missed by all. He never hesitated to go the extra mile to accomplish a tough task and in doing so he lead by example. The amazing thing about Sam was that not only could he educate you on just about every conceivable subject but he was a thoughtful mentor in the process. Sam was genuinely interested in our daily work as well as our family life. The team at work loved him and our families and friends loved him. We looked up to Sam like a Father. He embodied the quintessential qualities of a wonderful employee, person and most of all, our dear friend. Sam has etched a placed in our lives, our hearts, and our souls. He will forever be remembered by all of us.

Deb & Russell - So very sorry and shocked to hear of your loss. I will always remember the "talks" your father would have with me when he spotted me out in the yard or walking by the house. He would always try to help guide me as I grew up and how to handle different siutations reagrding life in general with his sage advice. Both of your parents were as second parents to me and cheryl and butch as we grew up. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you both during this difficult time. I am sorry that I will be unable to attend on Tuesday, but will most definitley pay my respects when I visit my mother.

Sammy Thompson was a proud, loving almost-parent to me since Debbie and I were childhood best friends (from ages 1 for Debbie and 2 for me), and as an adult, I came to love his love of conversation and story-telling. 75 years old seems too soon for Sammy to have left us, but I can't help but think that he just wanted to see Shirley again.
My thoughts and love to Debbie and Russell.

When I was about 10 or 11 (50 years ago) Sam gifted me with his Army utility belt and canteen. I was the envy of all the other boys on Laurel Drive. Sammy was a good neighbor and friend to our family.
