Obituary of Stanley Ciskowski
MERIDEN - Stanley "Roger" Ciskowski, 69, of Meriden, beloved husband of Janet (Rogers) Ciskowski, departed this life on Monday, December 26, 2011 at Mid-State Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Stanley was born on December 14, 1942 in New Haven, CT, son of Marion (Colberg) Ciskowski and the late Stanley Ciskowski. He enlisted and served proudly in the United States Marine Corps.
He worked for many years as an Automotive Parts Manager at Frenchy's Auto Repair. He was a member of the American Legion, Fraternal Order of the Elks and a communicant of Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford. He also sang in a DooWop Band for many years known at the "Dum Dooby Doo". He was a New York Giants Fan, a great artist, enjoyed collecting old 45 Records. He is mostly remembered for the love he shared with his family and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Janet of Meriden, his mother, Marion Ciskowski of Guilford. He leaves four sons: Bill and his wife Susan of Meriden, Steve and his wife Beverly of Orange, Chris and his wife Amy of Wallingford, and Greg Ciskowski of Oregon. He also leaves a brother, Steve Ciskowski and his wife Patty of Northford along with his sisters: Candy Cain of FL, Debbie Radzuinas and her husband Paul of Guilford, Kathy Civitello and her husband Noel of Guilford, Joan Banks and her husband Wayne of Guilford, Roberta Camera and her husband Sal of Guilford, Cissy Murphy and her husband Mike of East Haven, and Susan Gianelli and her husband Dave of Guilford. He also leaves 6 beloved grandchildren: Elizabeth, Tim, Valerie, Eric, Ruby, and Maddy and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his brother John Ciskowski.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 4 PM - 7 PM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10 AM at Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
