WALLINGFORD - Mary Bucci, 103, of Wallingford, departed this life on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. She was the loving wife of the late Fred Bucci. Mary was born on August 8, 1908, in Crabtree, PA, a daughter of the late Anthony and Antonette (Acierno) Solombrino. Prior to her retirement, she had worked within White Plains school system. Mary had served as secretary for the VFW in White Plains and had been a member of the Wallingford and Clinton Senior Citizens Centers. She loved bingo, knitting, cooking and taking trips. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her son: Anthony (and Gaye) DelVentura, Houston, TX; a daughter, Ann Platenyk, Wallingford, CT; her grandchildren: Leslie Reduto, Karen Scott, Robert DelVentura, Jeffrey Platenyk and Keith Platenyk; and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son, Andrew DelVentura, her great granddaughter, Cristina Reduto, 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Relatives and friends may call Saturday, November 5th from 9:00 - 10:30 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Resurrection in Wallingford.
