WALLINGFORD - James R. Denner Williams, 70, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 10, 2011 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Zambory) Williams. He was born April 12, 1941 in Columbus, OH, son of the late James and Emagene (Howard) Denner. He was also the adopted son of the late Richard E. Williams. James was a 1960 graduate of North Haven High School and had worked for over thirty years at Pratt & Whitney in North Haven. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5 and had coached Wallingford Youth Football during the 60's and 70's. In recent years, he had been an active participant with the Wallingford Senior Softball League. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: James Jr (and his partner Michelle Daly) of Wallingford, Deborah (Angelo) Marino of Higganum, and Gregory (Jennifer) of New Haven. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Anna Zambory and a daughter-in-law Joleen Williams both of Wallingford. He leaves a grandson Ryan and a granddaughter Sydney, both of whom made him such a proud grandfather, and brought much joy into his life. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 13th at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Rd., Wallingford. Burial will follow at the St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. Friends are invited to call at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 PM.
