Helen was my aunt (her last surviving brother was my father), and my sister and I have such fond memories of her during our childhood. During our yearly trips from California, where we lived, to Wallingford she would spend the entire two weeks just spoiling her nieces rotten. I think she was the inventor of 'Shop til you Drop' when it came to buying things for us. She always worried that we were too cold or too hot or needed more to eat. Her generosity was boundless as was her late husband, our Uncle Joe's. As an adult, when I'd visit her on Green Street, I learned quickly that complimenting anything in her house was risky because she'd insist on giving it to me, no matter how impossible it would be to fit in my suitcase. I too loved her yellow kitchen and remember all the cookies she made for us. My sister and I also remember how much we enjoyed learning Polish words from her. She loved teaching us. Rest in peace, Aunt Helen.
