Obituary of Stanislau Nicholas Vitale
WALLINGFORD - Stanislau (Stanley) Vitale, 72, loving husband of Linda (Anderson) Vitale departed this life on January 22, 2011 at the MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
Stanley was born on May 25, 1938, a son of the late Nicholas and Antonette (Meneo) Vitale. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and served overseas in Korea during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he had been a Teamster and an independent driver as an over the road truck driver. For 32 years he was a foster father to many children and was very involved in the activities of the foster care community.
In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed by his children: John and Donna Vitale of Hamden, Steven Vitale of Meriden, Theresa and Robert Paolella of Wallingford, Stanley Vitale, Jr. of Meriden, Jennifer Vitale of Wallingford, Melissa Vitale of California, Jaimie and Michael Sarenas of Wallingford, Amaro (Jr.) Vitale of New Haven, Paul Vitale of New Haven, Rosemarie and Jerimi Werner of Wallingford, Antoinette and Chris Morris of Wallingford, SonniLynn Vitale and Rob Barrios of Wallingford, and Felicia Vitale of Wallingford; his grandchildren: Megan, Whitney, Dean, Kyle, Samatha, Cody, John Jr., Jack, Jalen, and Tristan; his brothers: Nicholas Vitale Jr. and Robert Vitale of Hamden, Fred Vitale of Wallingford, and Antonio Vitale of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marylou Cohen.
A funeral service will be officiated by Deacon James Taylor of Our Lady of Fatima Church on Saturday, January 29th at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford at 11:00 AM. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 AM ? 10:45 AM. Entombment will follow at the All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
