WALLINGFORD - JoAnne Farkash, 64, of Wallingford, departed this life on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford. JoAnne was born on June 9, 1946 in New Haven, daughter of the late Joseph and Viola (Esposito) Rubino. She worked as a Paraprofessional with the Wallingford School District and at Rosa's Deli. JoAnne's greatest legacy was her ability to nurture people and she bestowed a positive influence on so many. She was a very independent woman raising her three sons on her own. In her later years, her grandchildren were a source of extraordinary joy. She's remembered for her warm heart, sense of humor, and love of life. She was a very artistic person, and enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with her friends. She will be sadly missed by her sons: John Farkash and his wife Lori of Wallingford, Joe Farkash and his wife Christine of Wallingford, and Jeff Farkash of Los Angeles, CA. She also leaves her long time companion, David L. Smith of Wallingford in addition to 2 brothers, James Rubino and his wife Dolores of North Haven, and Joseph Rubino and his wife Lee of Naples, FL., a sister, Jennifer Oville and her husband Paul of Durham. She also leaves 4 beloved grandchildren: Samantha, Lexie, Joe, and Savannah Farkash and her special nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, January 23rd from 1 - 3:30 PM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A funeral service will follow the calling hours in the funeral home at 3:30 PM on Sunday. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
