Obituary of William McLean

WALLINGFORD - William McLean, 75, of Wallingford, departed this life on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. He was the loving husband of the late Carol (Rosenblum) McLean. William was born on May 26, 1935, in Millinockett, ME, a son of the late Allen and Margaret (Barnett) McLean. Previous to his retirement in 2000, he had been employed by Marlin Firearms. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. William was an avid sports fan who enjoyed following the New York Yankees and the UConn basketball teams. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by: his daughter, Tracy Batchelder and her husband Robert of Wallingford; his son: Chris McLean; his grandchildren: Laurie and Melissa Batchelder and Christina and Nicholas McLean; his sisters: Patricia Pratt of Maine; Francis Ostraut of New Britain; Jacqueline Fogg of Florida; his brother, George (Hank) McLean and his wife Roxanne of Maine; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his his son: Glenn McLean; six brothers and four sisters. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the In Memoriam Cemetery.
