Obituary of Jeanie England
CHESHIRE - Jeanie Wylie Nicol England, 84, of Cheshire and formerly of Wallingford, departed this life on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
Jeanie was born on April 30, 1926, in Scotland, a daughter of the late James and Catherine (Russell) Nicol.
She had earned her Master of Science degree in library science from Southern Connecticut State College and went on to work in the New Haven and later Cheshire public school systems as a librarian and teacher. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Wallingford and later the Cheshire United Methodist Church. She took great joy volunteering in the pastoral care unit of the MidState Medical Center. She enjoyed gardening in her earlier years and was an avid reader and lover of music throughout her life. Many of her days were centered upon her loving daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Jeanie always took great pride in her Scottish heritage and enjoyed studying it.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter Beth Ann O'Sullivan and her husband Timothy Francis of Killingworth, and her grandchildren: Morgan Kaylee O'Sullivan and Siobhan Caitlin O'Sullivan both of Killingworth.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Cheshire United Methodist Church, 205 Academy Rd., Cheshire. Interment will follow at the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cheshire United Methodist Church or the charity of one's choice.
