Obituary of Ruth Brosnan Anderson
NEW HAVEN � Ruth Brosnan Anderson, 91, of Cromwell and formerly of New Haven and Wallingford, beloved wife of the late Robert Lees Anderson Sr., died peacefully holding her daughter�s hand at Apple Rehabilitation Center in Rocky Hill, CT.
Ruth was born on September 2, 1919 in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late James T. Brosnan and Charlotte Gobel Brosnan. She graduated the class of 1938 from Hillhouse High School. On November 28, 1943 she married the late Robert Lees Anderson while he was on medical leave during World War II in New Orleans. They later made their home in her much loved city of New Haven. Ruth worked at New York � New Haven Railroad and later retired after working 20 years for Choate School. She will be remembered most by those who loved her as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ruth�s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will miss her beautiful smile and her generosity of spirit.
She will be sadly missed by her beloved children: Robert Anderson and his wife Betsy of Alstead, NH, James Anderson and his wife Joan of Cheshire, William Anderson and his wife Peggy of New Haven, and Jean Anderson Millard and her husband Rusty of Cromwell. She also leaves eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren along with a nephew. Ruth is preceded in death by a brother, James T. Brosnan and a great-grandson, Harold Anderson.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, December 9th from 8:30 AM � 10:30 AM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St, Wallingford, CT. Eulogies will be given at 10 AM in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the calling hours at 11 AM in Ss. Peter & Paul Church, 139 N. Orchard St., Wallingford. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Wallingford.
