George Joseph Fitzgibbons Jr., 74, beloved Father and Grandfather, was called to his eternal resting place on August 22, 2016. He entered this world on May 18, 1942 in Newton, MA. He was the son of the late George and Evelyn Saltzman Fitzgibbons. He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Fitzgibbons; his son, Kevin Fitzgibbons & his wife Jamie and their children Logan and Alexa Fitzgibbons. He also leaves behind his sisters, Kathy Daly, Sharon Smith and Patricia Johnston and his Brother, Steve Fitzgibbons. George served as a member of the National Guard, earned his bachelor's degree from Boston College and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. A mass of Christian burial will be held Friday at 10:30 at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford. Interment will immediately follow at St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Purr Project; 4 Divine Street, North Haven CT. Services have been entrusted to the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm St. Wallingford, CT.
