SOUTH MERIDEN � Anthony �Tony� Vessichio, 96, of South Meriden, beloved husband of Helen (Crawford) Vessichio departed this life on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Mid-State Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born on June 6, 1914 in New Haven, CT, son of the late Pasquale and Elena (Latella) Vessichio. For most of his life he worked as a Milk Man, Butcher and later retired as a garment presser at Golden Touch Cleaners in Woodbridge at the age of 87. He was a hard worker and excellent provider his entire life. He is remembered by both family and friends for his wonderful cooking abilities. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and was an avid NY Yankees fan. He will be sadly missed by his wife Helen of South Meriden. His son Robert Vessichio and his wife Beth Ann of Cornish, NH. He also leaves his brother Michael Vessichio of Woodbridge and his sister Nicolette Destafano of NH in addition to two beloved grandchildren: Breana and Brenden Vessichio and three step grandchildren, Sara, Joshua, and Jacob Steinbeck and several nieces and nephews Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, October 6th from 4 � 7 PM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Most Holy Trinity Church in Wallingford on Thursday, October 7th. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
