Obituary of James A. Mascia
WALLINGFORD - James Mascia, 72, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary Mascia.
James was born in Waterbury on January 4, 1944 to the late Vincent and Helen (Zubik) Mascia. He grew up in Wallingford. He served his nation honorably in the U.S. Navy, flying many missions in a P3 Orion, and was highly decorated. He became an engineering/business consultant. His interests and accomplishments included gardening, cooking, natural health, and hosting a radio show with his wife Rosemary. He was president of the Natural Food Associates (NFA of CT) over 25 years and was also involved with advanced inventions re energy & flight, both land and air vehicles. As a classic car enthusiast, he served on the board of the Pontiac club.
Besides his loving wife Rosemary, he will be deeply missed by his son Stephen, and children by marriage Frank, Rosemary (predeceased) Mary & Joseph: their spouses; his brother Vincent, wife Leigh & sisters Carol husband John (predeceased) Elena, husband Dan; grandchildren Nikki, Kevin, Kerry, Michele: their spouses, Colleen & Joe Jr.; great grandchildren Tile, Asher & Isabella Rose; nephews & nieces Jay, Michael, Jeffrey, Brian Monica & Jessica: their spouses and children, many aunts, uncles & cousins.
To celebrate Jim's life, giving honor and glory to God, a memorial service will be held at High Hill Orchard, 170 Fleming Road in Meriden on Saturday, August 27th at noon. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 2nd at 11am at the Sarasota National Veterans Cemetery in Sarasota, FL.
