NORTH EASTHAM, MA � Mary Lea C. Sanderson, 80, of North Eastham, MA, beloved wife of the late Raymond A. Sanderson Jr., departed this life on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the McCarthy Care Center. Mary Lea was born on March 6, 1930 in Middletown, CT, daughter of the late Herbert Stevens Schaefer and Margaret Caroline Andrews. On December 8, 1951 she married Raymond at Holy Trinity Church in Middletown. They made their home in Wallingford from 1951 � 1991 retiring later in Cape Cod. She retired as a Directory Assistance Supervisor with Southern New England Telephone Company. She was a member of the Elks Lodge #1365 in Wallingford, CT and the Elks Lodge #2572 in Eastham, MA. She will be sadly missed by her son David Sanderson and his wife Kathy Kuhn of Wallingford. She also leaves a brother Edward Schaefer of Wellfleet, MA, along with two grandchildren Rebecca and Jacob Sanderson. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Raymond A. Sanderson III, and two sisters, Barbara A. Schaefer and Carol Bielfield. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, July 17th from 10:00 AM � 11:00 AM at the B. C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at In Memoriam Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at the Elks Lodge in Wallingford.
