MERIDEN - Jonathan Daniel LaPointe, 32 of Meriden, died suddenly Thursday afternoon in Summerville, S.C.
Jon was born in Bristol, on Feb. 1, 1978, and lived most of his adult life in and around Meriden. He also spent a year living in Tuscon, Ariz. working as an aide at a nursing home. From 2002 through 2004 he cooked for their Middlesex Community College caf. Jon was well known and loved by students, staff, and faculty. He studied martial arts and was extensively well-read on Star Wars mythology, but it was music and guitar that were his lifelong passions. Jon was a one-of-a-kind guy with a big heart, and was extraordinarily genuine and loyal. He never met a person he couldn't win over and was well known for his ability to fit in with everyone. His closest friends came from all walks of life and from all age groups.
