WALLINGFORD - Juan Luis Freire died Monday evening in the comfort of his home in Wallingford, CT surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. A resident of Wallingford since 1968, Juan Luis worked for several years at Revere Electronics in Wallingford before moving on to Pratt & Whitney in North Haven until his retirement in 1990. At both places, his diligence was a valuable asset and he was commended for such. Juan Luis spent his retirement travelling, studying his genealogy and family tree, researching religions, following his New York Yankees and Giants, and of course his favorite hobby � reading. The Wallingford Public Library knows him well. He also became a member of the Senior Center, enjoying pool activities and all of the friends he made. He was a kind, simple, and gentle person who believed in honor and merit. He respected people�s beliefs and believed that we should continue to search out knowledge and know thyself and God. People loved him for his pure heart. In Puerto Rico, he was well known for his singing and dancing. Men would ask him to serenade their girlfriends for them, and women would line up just to dance with him. He was the life of the party and never forgot a joke. Juan Luis is survived by his wife, Marta; his son, Johnny; his daughter, Vivian; his grandchildren � Nicole, Anthony, Juan Luis, and Wilmarie, and his great-grandchildren � Lorena, Sofia, Eliel, and Aidan Michael. Funeral and burial services will be conducted in his hometown of Cidra, Puerto Rico.
