Obituary of Mary M Perkins
Mary Perkins, 90, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at her home in Wallingford. She was the loving wife of the late James A. Perkins.
Mary was born on February 13, 1919 in Barkhamsted, CT a daughter of the late Dwight J. and Ruth (Dickinson) Minor.
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Dwight M. Perkins and his wife Madeline of Wallingford and James D. Perkins and his wife Kathleen of Madison; a daughter, Margo P. Gecewicz and her husband Ron of Wallingford; six grandchildren, Timothy D. Perkins and Carrie Perkins Hamilton, Molly and Jennie Perkins, and Callie and Justine Gecewicz; a sister, Eunice Sweeton of Canton Center; and a brother, Paul J. Minor of Bristol.
Prior to her retirement, she had worked for the Wallingford VNA from 1943 to 1981. She began her career as a staff nurse and later served as the acting director. She retired as a clinical supervisor. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of Wallingford where she was involved in the Women's Fellowship. She was a supporter of the Wallingford Symphony Orchestra and had been a member of the Wallingford Senior Citizen's Center. Her greatest joy came from being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the First Congregational Church, 23 S. Main St., Wallingford. Interment at the In Memoriam Cemetery will be private. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wallingford VNA, 135 N. Plains Industrial Rd., Wallingford, CT 06492, the Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O.
