I have a story about how i met Brain...It was my first day of freshman year, this year. I was at my locker, and i saw this adorable senior walking down the hall. He bumped into me, and i ended up sortof falling into my locker. Well afterwards, that senior helped me up and he felt so bad about it. He told me his name was Brian McCarthy and i had the biggest crush on him. Ever since that day, i've always considered him a friend and when i found out what happened to him i was so upset about it. He was an amazing person, and its horrible that something like this could happen to someone like him. Rest in peace, brian. I'll see you someday. <3

She also told me that you were the light of her classroom and she can still picture you saying, "Senora, what are we doing today?" Im so sorry that this happened to you. You didn't deserve this. You were taken away too young. Such an innocent life came to an abrupt end. Please watch over your family, friends, and classmates as they go through this very tragic loss. God blessed me by giving me two years with Brian as my student in Spanish 4 and 5. I'm not supposed to have favorites, but Brian was "el consentido de la profesora" (my favorite). How could he not be, with his charming, friendly, outgoing, charismatic, and vibrant personality. A nicer boy I have never known. I'm not surprised that he turned out as he did, with two loving and caring parents and two brothers who, as my colleagues have told me, are just as wonderful as Brian was. My heart aches for you, Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy, Michael and Jack. May you find strength and comfort in knowing that Brian was a blessing to everyone who was fortunate to have known him. My mother was Brian's long term sub in 4th grade. I can still remember the little stories I would here about her classes. Brian was always the fun loving and smart boy. In middle school I finally was actually able to meet him and I will always remember how tall he was from everyone else. You could be walking throug hthe hall and he would always stick out. Most teachers relied on him in high school. The perfect example is our sophomore year we were in AP US History together and our teacher would tell certain kids if they didnt do their homework they would stick them in the closet with Brian until they did it. He had this catching laugh you couldn't resist, if he was laughing you were. In every picture we would take he always had a new way of drawing attention to himself, always making others smile. Everyone wants to make a difference in the world before they leave this place. He made a difference in all of our worlds, he will always be with us.

Now in my mind ill keep you frozen as a 17 year old
Rounding third to score the winning run
You always played with passion no matter what the game
When you took the stage you shined just like the sun
Oh why thats what I keep asking
Was there anything I could have said or done
Oh God only knows what went wrong and why you would leave the stage in the middle of a son..
RIP You will never be forgotton

RIP Brian D. McCarthy<3 You were an amazing young man and didn't deserve to be taken away from us so soon. But no matter how much we all needed you here, someone up there needed you more. You were a great kid who always put a smile on my face when I did go to LH, and could always put a smile on anyones face when they needed it for that matter. Everytime I saw you it was the same thing each time, the same silly joke, and i'll miss hearing you scream it at me and laugh at me...You'll forever be in my heart til we meet again kiddo..i miss you horribly...I only wish I still went to LH so I could of seen you more..Love you hun
