Obituary of Dennis B. Page
WALLINGFORD - Dennis Benjamin Page, 91, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at the Masonic Healthcare Center. He was married to Louise Fraser Page of Wallingford for sixty-three years. The Page family would like to sincerely thank the staff at the Masonic Health Care Center and VNA Hospice personnel for the care given to Dennis.
Mr. Page was born in Green Lake, Wisconsin on July 24, 1917, the son of the late Edwin and Lydia Kahl Page. While studying Engineering at North Central College, Dennis enlisted in the Army in the fall of 1941. He rose through the ranks to Captain, serving in the Coastal Artillery in Panama and Boston during World War II. After the war, Dennis was a design engineer for Mercury Outboard Motors, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and United Aircraft in Connecticut, working at the CANEL Atomic Testing Lab, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Turbo Power & Marine and Stal Laval in Sweden. Dennis was an active member of St. Paul�s Episcopal Church, an excellent athlete and known for his kindness and wry sense of humor.
Besides his wife Louise, he is survived by a son Dennis H. Page of Wallingford; a daughter and son-in-law, Marilee and Harold Reitman, MD of Plantation, Florida; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Deborah Mansfield Page of Wallingford; five grandchildren, Taya Page of Stamford, CT; Rebecca Reitman of Plantation, FL; and Caroline, Graham and Abigail Page, all of Wallingford. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Sarno of Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. Robert Fraser of Edmonton, Canada and Mr. and Mrs. A. Leslie Fraser of Phoenix, Arizona also survive him along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Weston and his wife Elda, brothers Earl and Auldin; a sister Ethel; and a daughter-in-law Christine Steblek Page.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17th at 11am at St. Paul�s Episcopal Church, 65 North Main St., Wallingford. Committal will be immediately after the service in the St. Paul�s Memorial Garden.. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Connecticut VNA Hospice Program, 33 North Plains Industrial Road, Wallingford, and CT 06492 or the All Saints Memorial Fund, c/o St. Paul�s Episcopal Church, 65 North Main St., Wallingford 06492.
