Obituary of Charles Berryman
WALLINGFORD – Charles T. Berryman, 67, formerly of Cheshire, departed this life on January 2, 2008 at the Masonic Healthcare Center. He was the beloved husband of Jill Heyden Berryman.
Mr. Berryman was born on November 5, 1940 in New Haven, CT to the late Thomas T. and Isabella (Inkster) Berryman. Charlie was a longtime banker in CT, retiring from Bank of America after 43 years of employment in banking. He was a graduate of the University of Washington School of Executive Development. He was among the first to participate in the International Rotary Group Study Exchange when he traveled to Brazil in 1966. He was a member of the First Congregational church of Wallingford.
In addition to his beloved wife Joanne (Jill) he is survived by two children; Gregory T. Berryman and his wife Angela of Wallingford and Lisa Berryman-Boren and her husband David of Flower Mound, TX, a sister Carol B. Collins of Brookfield, two grandchildren Sydney Isabella Boren and Jack Thomas Berryman,. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family three sister-in-laws Margot Conley and her husband John of Osterville, MA, Judy Fenney and her husband Nick of Cheshire and Sandra White of Charlotte, NC, a brother-in-law Jon Heyden and his wife Janice of Moultonboro, NH and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on January 12, 2008 at 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church of Wallingford 23 South Main Street with the Rev. Dean Warburton officiating. A private burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Cheshire. It is suggested that gifts in Charles memory may be sent to the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, 23 South Main St., Wallingford 06492 or CT VNA and Palliative Care, 33 North Plains Industrial Road, Wallingford, CT 06492. The Wallingford Cremation Service, 273 South Elm Street, Wallingford is in charge of the arrangements.
