Obituary of Julius Nicholas Toth

WALLINGFORD - Julius N. Toth, 97, departed this life on February 11, 2018 at the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. He was the beloved husband of 57 years to the late Florence (Smith) Toth.

 

Julius was born in Wallingford, CT on March 6, 1920 to the late Nicholas and Emma (Kish) Toth. A lifelong resident, Julius graduated from Lyman Hall High School in 1938 and resided in the same home since 1946. He enjoyed the friendly atmosphere of his neighborhood and was very involved in many activities surrounding the community throughout his life. He frequently enjoyed the roller rink in town, where he met his loving wife, Florence. Julius was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Wallingford, serving as a lay minister and deacon. He was a Master Mason of Compass Lodge #9 and a member of the Wallingford Rod & Gun Club. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II, being stationed in Belgium and France. In his later years, Julius was the owner of J & B Cutting Service and prior to owning his own business was employed by Wally Sportswear in Wallingford for 35 years. His hardworking nature was rewarded with his love for fishing and hunting. Most important to him, was his family, whom he loved dearly.

 

Julius is survived by his two loving daughters: Patricia Stark (William) and Debra Moore (Joseph), both of Wallingford; his sister, Viola Aldrich (the late Henry Aldrich) and five adoring grandchildren: Brett Stark Jen), Matthew Stark (Elise), Andrew Stark (Christine); Dawn Stark & Sean Moore. He will also be greatly missed by his seven great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Julius was preceded in death by his sisters; Anna Walmsley, Ethel Evans, Helen Walker and by his brother Arthur Toth.

 

A funeral service for Julius will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Wallingford. All those attending are invited to meet directly at church. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening (TODAY) at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford, from 4-7 pm. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Wallingford, 114 N. Main Street, Wallingford.
