Obituary of Sarah Lehmann Skubas
WALLINGFORD - Sarah Lehmann Skubas, 69, of Wallingford, beloved wife of the late Charles Skubas, departed this life of natural causes in Costa Rica while vacationing.
Sarah was born on August 6, 1946, in New Haven, daughter of the late Rev. Delwin Lehmann and Ruby (Lahren) Lehmann. She grew up in Wallingford and returned to the area in 2014. She retired as an Executive Assistant to the Provost at Yale University after 40 years. Sarah graduated from Day Prospect Hill School and attended Kent State and graduated from Cazenovia College and the University of New Haven. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Hopkins School. Sarah loved her second home in Moultonborough, NH, on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee. Sarah loved kayaking and genealogy, but most of all Sarah was a true light in the lives of her friends and family.
Sarah's memory lives on in her son: Kyle Skubas and his wife Sarah of Stratford. She also leaves her brother, Kerry Lehmann of Chicago, and a beloved grandson, Samuel, along with a brother-in-law, Joseph Skubas, and a sister-in-law, Carol Skubas of FL. Sarah also leaves two nieces, Suzie and Danielle.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 21st at 2 PM at the First Congregational Church in Wallingford. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home of Wallingford is assisting with arrangements.
