As a co-worker of Doug's, I'd like to express my sympathy to the family. He was sorely missed when he retired and he will be sorely missed in passing. Doug was one of those guys everyone liked. Quick to smile and always thinking of others. We shared a love of the outdoors and often compared notes about our trips and outings. Doug kept a photo log of his outdoor activities at work that he would share with those of similar interest. Doug amazed me with his journeys....kayaking all the way through open ocean to and from Martha's Vineyard, 75 miles through the Maine woods on snow machines at minus 30 and showing up at work the next day with frostbite all over his face! I envied the adventures he would take. We both had two boys and often compared notes while following their careers with interest. He was very proud of both his sons. I'd say the apples didn't fall far from the tree. His love of outdoors and principles of right and wrong were passed to his boys. Rest peacefully my friend.
