I have some great memories of Ray - removing and setting up his swimming pool in a driving April rainstorm: catching some whoppers (1/2"?) at Deer Lake; winning a Pinewood Derby with a car that had bolts wrapped with an elastic band (needed to add some weight...not a great looking machine - but it won); sleeping (snoring) while the rest of the adults endured a sleepless night with the scouts at Battleship Cove and of a street block party or two where he was in charge of entertainment (fireworks) and all the neighbors were duly concerned. He was one of a kind and will be missed.

As neighbors and friends for 30 years when we moved into the neighborhood together we have many fond memories of Ray who always kept us laughing with his stories and antics. He will be sadly missed in the neighborhood and especially at our annual Christmas party -we will keep a chair open for him on the porch where he always sat with the neighbors.
We will be there to help support Maria during a very difficult time.

When I think of Ray, a chuckle always comes to mind. Ray always made me laugh. He was full of joy and enjoyed every moment. The boys asked us to share funny stories about their Dad, and I can think of many.
Ray and Maria often came to our annual Halloween party. Ray had some great costumes. One year he came as a carrot, all dressed in orange with green on top. As you can imagine ray's physique was not quite a carrot so it took us a while to guess what he was. Another Halloween Ray came as Pancho Villa with a sombrero, poncho and a bottle of tequila. Well, that particular night Ray was exhausted from doing his early morning paper route, and he fell asleep on the couch. Ray slept so soundly that all night people took pictures sitting next to him putting his arm around themselves--Ray slept through it all.
I will also remember Ray for the fabulous fireworks he would bring to parties. He was like a little kid firing them off. We will miss Ray terribly and will be there to support his family.
At the next Halloween Party, we will toast you, Ray--you made the annual get together so fun!

An old time friend to remember, you will be missed my friend. I'm sorry so much time went by and we didn't get to spend any of it together. It's been many years since we worked together but we always stayed in contact with each other. I'll miss your fishing stories and great conversation. Rest In Peace.

Maria our friend we are so sorry for the loss of your husband Ray (our friend).
There are no words that can express how sad we are for you and your family.
Ray was a man who always had a smile on his face, and always kind words for everyone.
He is in heaven with the angels and there is no doubt in my mind that he is bringing smiles to their faces too.
