WALLINGFORD - Sharon A. Waterman, 77, of Wallingford, beloved wife of Harold J. Waterman Jr., departed this life on August 17, 2013 at St. Raphael's Hospital in New Haven. Against "a perfect storm" and insurmountable odds, Sharon fought a courageous battle for her life while always maintaining her grace and dignity. Sharon was born on January 11, 1936 in Elkhart, IN daughter of the late Herbert and Jeanette (Reams) Marquardt. She retired as an Office Manager working for the office of Dr. Jerome Combs and later in New Haven at CHCP. Sharon was a wonderful cook, but her greatest legacy is that of a loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Sharon will be sadly missed by her husband of 54 years Harold J. Waterman Jr. of Wallingford and their four beloved children: Harold Waterman and his wife Kathy of MA, Sarah Joseph and her husband Frantz of CO, Aaron Waterman and his wife Linda of Wallingford, and Samuel Waterman of Wallingford. She also leaves two sisters: her twin, Shirley Foster and her husband Bob of IN, and Ruth Nickel and her husband James of IN. Sharon leaves five grandchildren: Ryan, Tyler, Aaron, Cameron, and Isabelle. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 4-6 PM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at In Memoriam Cemetery. Sharon's family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, staff, and clergy of St. Raphael's Hospital for their many kindnesses, considerations, and professionalism given during this lengthy period of time.
