Dear Alyce and family. I so wanted to attend George's wake but my health wouldn't let me. My daughter Pam and son Scott expressed my feelings about my friendship with him for almost 50 years.I still have th memories of golfing, goimg to Yale games, the PGA tounament in Cromwell, with your tasty chicken legs and just socialyzing at the Stoners. You know you have a great friend when yo.ur whole family approves of him. I didn't see much of him in the last year but kept in touch by Phone. Alyce you did a great job taking care of him these last couple of years while he went thru his health ptoblems. My deep and sincere condolence to you and your family. Bob Corcoran

I played in a Thursday night golf league with George for many years in Hamden. I know that I speak for all of his "Lost Boys" buddies when I say that the League was never the same without him, never quite as fun. Whenever we saw him after his "retirement", we would always beg him to come back, even just as a substitute, but he always said that he was having too much fun with his grandchildren. I no longer play in the golf league myself, but I know that the present members have decided to rename the league trophy in his honor. My sincere condolences, Paul Langella

Dear Alyce and Family, I am so very sorry to hear about George. Dad kept us informed of George's condition through his entire illness. We prayed along the way and shared in your pain. I am so sorry there was not a better outcome. George was a great man. I still recall when my dad was in the hospital after his colon surgery and i just got word that he had the septic infection, i was crying in the waiting room and George walked in. The look on his face when he heard of the setback was that of a true and caring friend. He called my brother constantly with his concern. My Dad is devastated to lose his friend of so many years. He told me "George was a DEAR friend and we go back a LONG way and have so many GREAT memories and GOOD times! George did not deserve this!" Dad always told me ""Alyce was GOOD for George!" "Alyce is a good woman, that is what George needed." For that you should be proud Alyce. Yes, he was way too young. The Good seem to always be taken from us. The man upstairs has a plan for all of us. May he comfort you and your family and hold George in his arms. Pam and Carmen DeDona and family

Dear Alyce and Family, So sorry to learn of George's passing. He was a good man and a great friend to my Father. I'll never forget the daily conversations with him during my Father's hospitalization 5 years ago. He was like an "Uncle" to me because their friendship seemed more like a brotherhood. May he rest in peace and the family find comfort in the memories, love and prayers from family and friends. Scott Corcoran
