WALLINGFORD - George J. Morris, 72, of Wallingford, beloved husband of 34 years to Alyce (Paecht) Morris, departed this life on Wednesday, May 8th at Connecticut Hospice of Branford, surrounded by his loving family. George was born on December 4, 1940 in New Haven, CT son of the late Eleanor (Connolly) Morris. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and later retired after 38 years from O.F. Mossberg & Sons of North Haven. He was an avid Golfer and played with the Dawn Patrol at Alling Memorial Golf Course in New Haven. He will be sadly missed by his wife Alyce of Wallingford and their 4 children: Jeannine Marcoux of FL, Michael Mazzacane and his wife Christina of West Haven, Diane Maloney of FL, and Joanne DeNicola and her husband Jeff of Durham. George also leaves his brother, William Morris and his wife Kathy of SC, and his sister, Linda Ochman and her husband Ric of North Branford, in addition to 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by a brother, Richard Morris. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, May 12th from 4 - 7 PM at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S. Elm Street, Wallingford. Full military honors will be rendered at 6:45 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
