WALLINGFORD - George Rutcho, 82, loving husband of Yvonne Rutcho died Monday, March 25, 2013 surrounded by his adoring family after a courageous battle with cancer. George was born in Southbridge, MA on March 23, 1931, son of the late Naun and Penelope Rutcho. He is a graduate of Coffeyville Junior College and Colorado State University. He enlisted in the Air Force and served during WWII and the Korean War. He was employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. until his retirement. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church of Meriden. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Frederick, Kathryn Thoreson and husband Brian, and Susan Van Keuren and husband Edward; five beloved grandchildren: James, Benjamin, Michael, Peter, and Audrey. He also leaves dear siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, March 28th from 10:30 AM to noon at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm Street in Wallingford. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a future date at the Connecticut State Veterans' Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to SS.
