Dear Anthony...
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved wife Theresa. Our wives were together during their Chemo treatments in 2009. I lost Mary in Feburary 2010.
Again... those two beautiful women are together once more. This time they are without sickness or pain.
For us, the pain and suffering contiinues. Please know that the love and support from your family and friends will help lessen your pain as time goes on.

Anthony and family,
Theresa was a dear friend to my husband CJ and I while at Fairfield University. Theresa always found time for others and shared her great smile and sweetness with ease. I remember Theresa as someone who radiated kindness and was always eager to offer care when needed. The depth of her sweetness was even in the timbre of her voice. Theresa lives in my memory as someone who could encourage you when you were down and then share a laugh to get you back on track. I wish her beautiful children and family much love. Theresa will always be an inspiration to me...Visiting the Defilio home and watching the love she shared with her children..And the love they gave back to her are my favorite memories....We would sit a chat about nothing and everything over her favorite tuna fish, mixed greens salad, oil and Balsamic Vinegar, and Mrs. Paul seasoning. After hours of this, Anthony would come home and the laughter would continue. The memories of a truly inspirational mother, wife, and friend will forever be in my heart. We cannot see the sadness, but we know its there because we feel it; we cannot see the pain, but we know its there, because we feel it so deeply; so many things we cannot see but we know they are there, without question! Such as it is with Theresa. You cannot see her, but her Spirit is there, with you all, and she always will be. I have so many treasured memories of Theresa that make me smile and laugh. Some of my favorites would be our phobias - hers to mice and mine to stink bugs. She was my hero one day when she ran over to my house to get one out of my living room - no questions asked! Likewise, Dave (my husband) was able to 'save' her one day when he retrieved a mouse who had drowned in Trevor's indoor water bowl!
I already miss Theresa. She was a true friend I could laugh with, cry with, and even when we didn't talk or see each other for a while, we could pick up like it was yesterday. Her greatest joy was truly her husband and 5 wonderful kids; I know she will always be there for you and guiding you. May God bless you with the peace and comfort knowing that she is by our Lord's side in Paradise.
