CHESHIRE - Robert C. Doyon, 71, of Cheshire, departed this life on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at his residence. Robert was born on July 13, 1940 in Acushnet, MA, son of Rita Dubois and the late Adelard Doyon. He served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. He worked his entire career fundraising for non-profit organizations including the American Cancer Society, hospice, and numerous hospitals. Fundraising was not only his career, but his passion, and he found great purpose in it. He was also a lifelong Rotarian. He served as one of the famous chicken cookers during Wallingford Rotary's Chicken BBQ. His favorite past time was spending time at his summer cottage in Lakeville, MA. He loved spending time with his family. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed boating, and playing cards. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Donna DiMiceli and her husband Richard of FL. His grandson, Nicholas DiMiceli also of FL. He also leaves his longtime companion "First Mate" Jean Little of Wallingford in addition to a sister, Muriel Garcia and her husband Oscar of TX a brother: Ronald Doyon and his wife Debra of FL. He also leaves his mother Rita Dubois of TX along with several nieces and nephews. All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
