Obituary of George A. Hellemann
MADISON - George A. Hellemann, 88, of Madison and formerly of Wallingford, beloved husband of over 63 years to Alice (Zambori)Hellemann, departed this life on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Masonic Healthcare Center.
George was born on July 18, 1921, in Meriden, CT, son of the late F. George Hellemann and Alice (West) Hellemann. He enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard upon graduation from Lyman Hall High School class of 1941. Upon return from the Coast Guard he was employed as a silver designer for R. Wallace & International Silver Company retiring after 30 years.
He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Wallingford. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2096, Compass Lodge No. 9 A.F. & A. M., he was a also a member of the Keystone Chapter No. 27 R.A.M. in addition the Knights Templar St. Elmo Commandery No. 9. and Hamilton Council No. 22 R.&S.M.
In addition to his wife he leaves his son Edward Hellemann of Madison and a granddaughter Tara Hellemann of Madison and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two daughters: Christine and Claudia Hellemann and one brother, Roger Hellemann.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:00 AM at In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford with Rev. Deeann Dodd of St. Paul's Episcopal Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Masonic Charity Foundation, P.O. Box 71, Wallingford, CT 06492.
