Obituary of Catherine Otto Montgomery
New York City - Catherine Sarah Otto Montgomery gracefully and elegantly,
with all the class of the beautiful person she was, left us for the comfort of her beliefs on May 28th at Lenox Hill Hospital. She graduated from Connecticut University and went on to be one of the icons of the speech therapy profession.
She built the American Institute of Stuttering with the strength of her belief that everyone had a right to speak freely and be heard. She had the biggest heart, and a kind word for everyone. Her legacy will live on.
She is survived by her loving husband Jon of New York City. Paul & Cindy McCormick of Narragansett, RI, Dick & Susan Otto of Killingworth Connecticut, Robert & MaryEllen Otto of Raynham, Massachusets, John & Darlene Otto of Guilford, Tina & David Soares and children of New York City, Barbara Friedman of Monticello, New York and all the nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for friends and family will be held at B.C. Bailey funeral Home at 273 South Elm Street in Wallingford CT. at 10AM on Wednesday June 2nd. Graveside services will be at 12 Noon at In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Institute of Stuttering Scholarship Fund.
